Goregaon, Mumbai (10 September 2025) - A fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon in the Shalimar Building on SV Road in Goregaon West. The building, which houses a McDonalds outlet on the ground floor, saw the blaze originate in the common meter box of the G+5 residential structure.
Emergency services, including the Mumbai Fire Brigade, responded swiftly to the incident, which was reported at 12:18 PM. The fire was declared a Level I blaze and multiple agencies, including the local police and BMC ward staff, were on the scene.
According to officials, no injuries were reported, and all residents were safely evacuated as a precautionary measure. The fire was successfully brought under control. The cause of the fire is believed to be a technical fault or short circuit from the meter box.
